1 Day -- Actively Freaking Out

So as of right now, I literally have one full day left in the USA! I cannot believe the time is here. I have been so busy this week running errands like a crazy woman.

Like many of you already know, Mom and I have our birthdays just a day a part and we'll be missing each others birthdays this year for the first time. Mom will be turning 57 and I will be the 'big 21'. Even though I will be in Espana having the time of my life, I am still sad that I'll be missing out on her day. Anyways, I wanted to have her a little 'early birthday dinner' and give her my gift. So on Monday night, we (Mom, Dad, and I) ran up to Macon to have a birthday dinner at our favorite... Carrabbas.
This is the piece I bought for my Mom's birthday! I saw it in the boutique I work at and thought it looked just like her.

Tuesday I got SO many things done! Mom graciously took a half day off work to help me finish buying the rest of my things! I met her up in Perry to run a few of her errands and then we were up I-75 North! We stopped in Macon to do a little shopping at Riverside Crossing and then ran up to the Tanger outlets to go to J.Crew. They had SO many great things.
A few of my new purchases!

After our shopping at J. Crew, we ran back down to Warner Robins to stop at Target and Hobby Lobby to get my supplies for my watercolor class.... which was a complete disaster. Target was great, I got everything I needed to get but when we got to Hobby Lobby, Mom & I were in for a huge surprise. First off, I was starving by this point (aka... bad mood) but tried to ignore it. Neither of us know a thing about watercolor supplies or art in general. They did not have a lot of the items that I needed so I just bought what I could as quick as possible. Later Tuesday night, I met Abbye back up on 96 to go see Bad Teacher. It was HILARIOUS. end of story

Today I have just been finishing up my last minute errands. I had lunch with Abbs in Perry and then we were back off to Warner Robins to get mani & pedi's before we leave. I ended up going in to Michael's to finish buying my art supplies and they had a much better selection of things which worked out well. I have a feeling this will be my last blog before I leave because I will be so busy Thursday packing and finishing up my homework! But I'll be posting as soon as I can!

Five Days & Counting!

So I am trying this whole blogging thing while I will be in Madrid for a personal journal. I will warn you all though, I've never even owned a journal or have done much creative writing so it will take me a while to get a hang of things!

For those friends and family out there that do not know much about my trip I will give ya'll the lowdown:
I will be studying abroad in Madrid, Spain for FIVE WHOLE WEEKS! Words cannot even describe how excited I am and how blessed I feel to even be able to go on such an amazing trip. I am going with two of my very best friends, Abbye Coody and Nola Sexton. I know a few other girls going on the trip too so I will have plenty of friends with me! Abbye and I have been talking about studying abroad together for years and years (literally probably since we were thirteen) and its finally happening. My roomate Morgan and my best friend Allison just got back from Montepulciano, Italy just last Sunday and they said that it was a trip of a lifetime and it changed who they were. My other roomate Bree decided to study abroad in Montepulciano for the latter part of the summer too! She just arrived this past Saturday and she is having a blast! We are really hoping to meet in somewhere in the middle of Europe since we will both be over there at the same time! How fun would that be?!

I am so excited about the two classes I will be taking over there too! I am taking a communication class for my my major AND a watercolor class! Now I am no artist but the teacher seems pretty laid back and said she'd give us an "A for effort"! Even as I am typing this blog, I am realizing that I am not an expert because its pretty jumpy and already skipping around...

I have been in Valdosta all summer working and have been anticipating the trip for months and months and I cannot believe its almost finally here. I am freaking out a little bit, but in a good way! I am very nervous about this packing situation though. I am an EXTREME overpacker... when I go off for a weekend, I usually end up with about two suitcases and my hanging clothes so packing for five weeks and under 50 lbs is going to be a challenge to say the least but I am sure between my Mom and Dad, we can figure it out (Dad is an expert packer). I did end up getting a new suitcase before the big trip which I am super excited about. It is HUGE and only 11 pounds. I still have so many things to buy and do this week. Mom is planning to take a half day off and just knock it all out with  me in one day! I am hoping to go up to the Tanger outlets to my favorite J Crew. I love their clothes. I love clothes period but theirs are just perfect. Speaking of clothes... I am so anxious to do some shopping in Madrid, after a long flight over there, retail therapy will definately be on my mind...

I will leave ya'll with that and I am sure I'll be updating before I leave but if not then as the Spanish say... "Adios amigos!"
